Stacey Howard Graff's Obituary
Stacey Howard Graff, 80, of Clearwater, passed away on October 9, 2023, at the Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida. Stacey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Graff (Kwasney), son David Graff (Tina Crawford), daughters Kristine (Gabe Slater) and Jennifer (Chuck Dyer), and his four grandchildren, Clayton, Emily, Kelli, and Molly (Slater).
The only child of the late Howard Graff and Beverly Clayton Graff Chapman, Stacey was born on September 9, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His move to Glendale, California led to his earning a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UCLA. and a professional career that began with Autonetics (now a part of Boeing). He moved to Honeywell International in Florida where he spent 35 years as an engineer and operations manager in both radiation effects and avionics. Outside of work, Stacey continuously fulfilled his curiosity about the world through his never-ending research about space, world religions, and computer technology. His penchant for solving problems was illuminated by his love of murder mysteries, political thrillers, and worlds of fantasy. When he was not reading books or surfing the Internet, he was watching his favorite football and basketball teams and golf tournaments, or winning at cards or backgammon. While an introvert by nature, he was always up for a family get-together and loved hearing about his grandchildren’s (Clayton, Emily, Kelli, and Molly) latest escapades and accomplishments.
One of Stacey’s greatest secrets was his woodworking skills. There was no project too big or too small and he loved giving these visually stunning and practical creations he made with love to those whom he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, The Arbor Day Foundation, The Planetary Society, or The Humane Society of Pinellas in memory of Stacey.
