Stella Marie Laursen's Obituary
Stella Marie (Lindsey) Laursen passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the age of 74. Stella was born November 9, 1948 in Clearwater, a fifth generation Floridian. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ben and Ailene Lindsey. Stella married Michael Laursen in April 1965, and they raised their three boys in Clearwater, Florida. Stella and Michael have lived in Dunedin for the last twenty years.
A lifelong devoted dog owner, Stella had many beloved dogs. She also spent twenty-five years dedicated to the Upper Suncoast Dog Obedience Club, where she trained dogs and organized dog shows. She served as president of the Dog Club, as well as secretary for many years. Stella’s gift for connecting with animals extended to all creatures: she and Michael have welcomed a wild egret, Ringo, to their yard in Dunedin, who comes to say “hi” several times every day.
Stella loved flowers, photography, genealogy, rocks, and shells, but most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Stella has three sons, Kirk (Danielle), Chris (Luda), and Jason (Melissa), as well as seven grandchildren: Katie, Chloe, Gregory, Shea, Julian, Chase, and Caden. Stella will be missed dearly by all those whose lives she touched.
A visitation for Stella will be held on Thursday October 26, 2023 from 10am – 11am in the Moss Feaster funeral home, 1320 Main St. Dunedin FL., followed by a funeral service at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial for Stella will be private.
