Steven George Benton's Obituary
On September 8, 2024, sadly, my brother, Steven Benton, youngest child born to George and Oakie Benton, passed away at the tender age of 59. Steve was born in Hampton, Virginia into a loving and caring family where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age and was an active member of Third Baptist Church where he and the family worshipped.
After completing his primary education, Steve left Hampton bound for Long Island, NY in search of a new adventure. Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Steve departed New York after a few years and headed South to Florida, where he has resided for 25 plus years.
Steve lived a simple life grounded in faith and trust. He believed in the importance of commitment and demonstrated it daily to all he came into contact. Likewise, he expected the same from others. He was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching and rooting for his beloved NY Jets.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, George and Oakie Benton. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories, his brother Michael Benton (Ivy) of Woodbridge, VA, nephew, Marcus Benton of Laurel MD, niece, Mikaela Benton of Woodbridge, VA.
