Sue Barlow Rogan's Obituary
Sue Barlow-Rogan, 81, of South Pasadena, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016.
Sue was born on May 24, 1935 in Medford, Mass. to Donald and Marion MacMillan and grew up in Hampton, CT. It was at Windham High School that she met her first love, Wayne Eugene Barlow to whom she was married for 44 years. In 1960, they moved to New Milford, CT where they lived their entire married life, raising their three children. During her time in New Milford she met many wonderful people, many of whom became lifelong friends. Sue was actively involved in the Catholic Church, Rotary Club and the Youth Exchange- she was awarded the first CT female Paul Harris Fellow award.
After the death of her husband in 1998, Sue moved to Clearwater, Florida and met her 2nd husband, Peter Rogan. They married in 2005 and enjoyed their many years at Cove Cay Country Club until his passing in 2014.
Sue loved to be surrounded by friends and family. She had unconditional love and support for her children and grandchildren. “Mom”, “Grammie” or “Grandma Sue” had a competitive streak with video games and loved watermelon seed spitting contests. Also, she loved to play golf, go to the beach and help organize activities such as “Twighlighters” golf tournament at Cove Cay and the “Welcome” committee at The Fountain.
Sue is survived by her beloved children and step-children, Andrew and James Behanna, Nancy and Gary Treadwell, Margaret and Jeff Worth, Peter and Barb Rogan, Susanne Sauve, Thomas and Christine Rogan, Joan and Dean Marchessaul, David and Susan Rogan, Paul and Shannon Rogan, Jan and Glen Edwards. She leaves 5 cherished grandchildren behind, Angelica, Francisco, Nick, Wayne, Andrew, and over 20 step-grandchildren. Survivors also include her six loving sisters, Jane Lamb, Donna Calderado, Nancy Johnson, Cay Hines, Carol Skey and Linda Myhaver.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 6, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, Fla. Another memorial service will be held in New Milford, CT in November.
