Susan Floyd Center's Obituary
Susan Floyd Center, 81, of Belleair, FL entered her Heavenly Home Wednesday, December 27, 2023, under hospice care.  She was born October 23, 1942, in Winter Haven, FL to Carl and Esther (Ferris) Floyd, who preceded her in death. Susan is also preceded by her husband Jerry Center.
After attending Emory University and Piedmont College, Susan received her Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of Tri Delta Sorority.
Living some time in Miami, Susan moved to north Georgia and then to Belleair in 1980 from Atlanta. Susan became active at Calvary Episcopal Church, Indian Rocks Beach, staring a group there called Lamplighters and then became a member at Church of the Ascension, Clearwater and Church of the Incarnation in Highlands, NC. She was also a Junior League Sustainer, both in Clearwater and Miami and member of St. Teresa’s Guild at Church of the Ascension. With her personal time, Susan enjoyed cooking, hiking, horseback riding, tennis, water skiing and crafts from when she was a young girl. Susan’s personal fulfillments came from being in the mountains, using her gift of hospitality and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by children, Dr. Michael Rowe (Tonya), Leslie Canada (Jon), Nancy Callahan (Kelly), Theresa Gaddis (Kevin), Sharon Laurent (Randall); siblings, Ginger Phillips (Jim), Judy Thompson, Tom Floyd (Dee Dee), Sally Snyder (Charles); 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Celebration will be Friday, January 5, 2024, 4:00PM at The Church of the Ascension, 701 Orange Ave, Clearwater, FL 33756. Donations in Susan’s memory may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, https://suncoasthospicefoundation.org/donations2/
