So many fond memories of "Miss Terry"...
Every kid on the block playing in the biggest backyard in the neighborhood. Those huge white spools we would roll around on. All the while, Terry watched over us and always reminding us to play nice, take turns, etc. She was like everybody's mom - if we got hurt, she had a band-aid at the ready. When we got hurt on the inside, she was always ready with a hug and gentle kindness that helped make things better.
The Saturday morning matinee at Seminole Mall - how she kept track of all of us I will never know. But she did!
The days we got to go to church or vacation bible school with the family.
The only time in my life I have ever done Christmas Caroling, and we covered the entire block! I still, remember not, knowing all the songs, yet Terry encouraged us to hum along or would even help us with the words!
She was truly a blessing to all of us growing up in the neighborhood. I hope she is smiling down on all of us and pleased with how well many of her lessons stuck with some of us.
We may have lost one of the great ones down here, but they surely gained a wonderful angel up there...
