Teryl J. Gray's Obituary
Branford, FL.— Terry Gray (née Zigler) was born to parents James Zigler and Ruth Barton Zigler in rural Dixon, Illinois on March 2, 1949. As a child, her family moved to Dunedin, Florida. She’s been complaining about the heat and traffic ever since. She grew up loving rock and roll, church, and visits to the family farm. There is no doubt that Terry is blasting some Kiss and Def Leppard right now, as her beloved father looks on disapprovingly (but then, Terry always marched to beat of her own drum).
On September 12, 1970, she married Jan Gray. The less said about that the better. But she got three kids out of it! Terry took great pride in raising her three children Justin, Jason, and Nathaniel. If the time she spent with her children were the happiest years of her life, as she often said, her last few years tending to the goats, donkeys, geese, turkeys, and beloved cow LuluBelle on her ten-acre “Funny Farm” in Branford, Florida surely comes in as a close second (although the boys agree the farm easily ranks first). She loved her animals so much, and the mornings and evenings she spent tending to their care beneath the expansive live oaks of her property gave her an enormous sense of satisfaction and purpose. To Terry, her farm was heaven on earth, so God’s Kingdom has a lot to live up to.
Terry Gray (née Zigler) left this world on October 2, 2023. Tenacious to the end, she put up a hell of fight before finally succumbing to the effects of her stroke. A tough as nails old bird, her like is surely not to come along again anytime soon. She was a woman who loved to care and nurture those closest to her. She is succeeded by her three children and six grandchildren: Paige, Michael, Xavier, Calyssa, August, and Oliver. Terry was loved, and she will be greatly missed.
