Todd, Holly, and I are so very heartbroken. Theresa will be missed so very much. Even though we may have been separated by miles and sometimes more time than we wanted, we always could pick up where we left off. I'll never forget Theresa. She was such a big part of my life When she came to teach at Austin we quickly became friends while she was setting up her room and I quickly asked her to move in with me. She loved riding the tractor (what she called the riding mower) and was confused about hearing cows at night. We had so much fun. It just seems like she was always there. Both of our marriages, to helping us remodel our home (she was not good at drywall but she sure had fun slapping it on), to playing with our daughter Holly. We loved visiting her in Oregon and in Fl and it was always a treat when she stopped in on her way home to Indy. She always was positive, had the best smile, loved meeting new people, was a great talker but she also was a wonderful listener. I am so blessed to have had her in my life. I just wish I could hear that laugh one more time. Love and prayers for her family. You were the joy of her life.
My heart is broken for Theresa's family. Losing Theresa like this is yet another tragedy for you all. I haven't the words to express my deepest sympathies. Theresa will be remembered in my heart as an open, loving, empathetic being with so very much to offer. Our world will be smaller, and not quite as fun, without Theresa Marie's vibrant spirit. God bless you all. Annie McCarty
Dale and I are heartbroken to hear of Theresa's passing. May the wonderful memories of her vivacious spirit provide some peace and bring a smile to your face.
About 16-17 years ago for my birthday, Theresa brought me a fun magnet from the National Archives that had the famous oval office picture of Elvis Presley with Nixon on it. Theresa proceeded to sing me Happy Birthday in her spot-on Elvis impersonation, complete with lip snarl and hip wiggle! I'm smiling now thinking about it, and I can imagine each of you are as well. Be at peace sweet Theresa, and until we meet again...'You are Always on My Mind.'
Love,
Hillary and Dale Schaper
