Thomas Scott Epperly, 59, passed away on July 29, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and countless friends who will remember his generous spirit, quick wit, and remarkable talent in the kitchen.
Born on December 14, 1966, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Scott spent his early years there before relocating to Largo, Florida, in 1998, where he built both his career and his home.
Scott dedicated much of his professional life to the restaurant industry, serving as a director and manager for several restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay area. His leadership, work ethic, and passion for hospitality earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Above all, Scott was a masterful chef whose greatest joy came from preparing meals and bringing people together around the table. Cooking was more than a profession—it was his way of expressing love and creating lasting memories.
Outside the kitchen, Scott had a lifelong passion for automobiles. From his teenage years through the rest of his life, he found joy in cars and appreciated the craftsmanship, performance, and freedom they represented.
Scott also had an extraordinary love for dogs. He cared deeply for Harley, Sammie, Qtip, Levi, and Max, who each held a special place in his heart and brought him years of companionship and happiness.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Alberta Ross Gilpin and Leslie Martin Gilpin, and his father, Thomas Edwards Epperly.
He is survived by his mother, Alberta Sue Epperly; his sister, Kimala Sue Epperly; his wife, Kimberly Cash; his son, Daniel Jayce Epperly, and daughter-in-law, Patrice Diana Epperly; and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Mae Epperly and Jayce Daniel Epperly. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in watching it grow.
Scott will be remembered for his kind heart, his incredible culinary talent, his love of family, his devotion to his dogs, and the many lives he touched through his warmth, humor, and generosity. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with all who knew him.
His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friends he made, and the countless meals and moments that brought people together.
