Thomas E. Maziarz's Obituary
Thomas E.Maziarz, age 93 of Dunedin, Florida passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, January 8, 2011 with his loving family by his bedside.He was born June 10, 1917 in Duryea, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Mary (Gawrys) Maziarz. He graduated from Duryea High School in 1935 and later served in the US Army infantry during WWII. In 1958, Tom graduated from the University of Scranton with a BS degree in Accounting. He retired from the US Post Office as a Superintendent of Mails in 1979, after 35 years of service. He moved to Dunedin shortly after retirement.He was an avid reader, world traveler, historian and the Phillies greatest fan. He was fluent in Polish and several other Slavic languages.Tom was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin and the American Legion of Dunedin.Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Regina (Granahan), brothers William, Edward and Matthew and sister Rose Sudek.He is survived by his wife Dorothy(Grant-Mc Lean), daughter Barbara Victor(husband James) of Downers Grove, Illinois, and a son Thomas(wife Eileen) of Plant City, FL., four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be sent to a charity of your choice. The family is very thankful for the care and concern provided by the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast during his final days.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes..The family will meet with friends to celebrate his life after the Funeral Mass.Arrangements under the direction of Moss Feaster Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dunedin, FL.
