Thomas Sandhoff's Obituary
Thomas Sandhoff, of Orange City, FL and formerly of Palm Harbor, FL died on March 16, 2026. Tom was surrounded by family members passing away after a brief battle with cancer. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, Sr. and Ruth Sandhoff, his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Paul Allen, son-in-law, Michael Stanley, and granddaughter, Carlisle Sandhoff.
Tom was dearly loved by his wife, Karen, his children and spouses, Jeffrey and Sandra Sandhoff, Todd and Kristen Sandhoff, Erin Stanley, Kristen and Kevin Headrick, and sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bob Steinbraker. Tom was a wonderfully attentive grandfather and will be greatly missed by grandchildren Lucy Sandhoff, Jenna (Will) Kenas, Cali Sandhoff, Watson, Sydney, Shelby and Pierce Sandhoff, and Leah, Luke and Lauren Stanley. Many nieces and nephews and their families were also very close to Tom and will miss his loving presence in their lives.
Tom, originally from Trenton, NJ, graduated from Ursinus College in 1964, going on to complete his M.Div. from Denver Seminary. Tom and Karen married June 15,1968 and Tom began his career in ministry serving as a pastor of churches in Cedarville, NJ, Lewistown, PA and Ewing, NJ. In 1982, the family of 6 moved to Tampa, FL During a brief departure from ministry, Tom spent time in a family business while studying and then being ordained in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). Thereafter, Tom served in various positions at Seminole Presbyterian Church and School and later as Chaplain at a local hospital.
Finally retiring, Tom and Karen moved to John Knox Village where they found a wonderful community of friends. Tom continued to be active serving as head of the village Spiritual Life Committee, tutoring at a local elementary school, volunteering on a Citizens on Patrol (COP) program, occasional speaker for Vespers services, as a faithful facilitator and member of several men's prayer and Bible study groups and a member at St. Andrews Church in Sanford, FL
Tom's deep faith in Jesus' saving work was the foundation of his life and Christ's example of sacrificial love motivated Tom to care for everyone he met. No strangers for Tom! Relationships were a number one priority for him and Tom spread his joy of life to all with a witty sense of humor. Tom possessed an uncanny memory for even the smallest concern expressed by family or friends and diligently committed those to God in prayer. He was the loving spiritual patriarch to all his extended family and that Godly presence will be sorely missed. Tom's legacy of faithfulness to the Savior he loved will continue to sow seeds of faith and Godliness for generations to come.
A favorite verse of Tom's was Ps. 16:1, "You make known to me the path of life, in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are "pleasures forevermore." Tom experiences that now.
In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to the Sandhoff/Pierce Scholarship Fund, Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750
