Thomas "Tom" Wisniewski's Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Wisniewski, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family, service, and wonderful memories. Born on August 11, 1939, in Wilmington, Delaware, Tom was the proud son of Polish immigrants, the late Walter and Jennie Wisniewski. Growing up in a close-knit household as one of five children alongside his siblings—Irene, Robert, Dorothy, and David—Tom learned early on the values of hard work, family, and perseverance.
Following high school, Tom answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. His military service took him to distinct posts across the country, from the rugged wilderness of Anchorage, Alaska, to the sunny shores of Panama City, Florida.
After completing his military service, Tom returned home to Delaware, where he spent many dedicated years working for Formosa Plastics in Delaware City. After a fulfilling career, he retired in 1993 and moved to Palm Harbor, Florida, to enjoy a well-earned retirement in the Sunshine State alongside his wife, Helen.
Above all, Tom was known by everyone who loved him as a deeply patient, kind, and caring man. He shared 40 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Helen (Cole) Wisniewski, building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
An avid sports fan with a competitive spirit, Tom was an excellent bowler and a passionate baseball fan who cheered faithfully for both his hometown Philadelphia Phillies and his local Tampa Bay Rays. He loved spending time on the water fishing, crabbing, and camping with family. Tom was famous among family and friends for making the best crabs around, guarding his secret recipe with pride and delighting anyone lucky enough to share a meal at his table.
Tom’s spirit lives on through his loving wife, Helen; his sons, Chris (Lisa) and Dominic (Debbe); his grandchildren, Allie, Hannah, Grayson, and Braden, who brought him endless pride and joy; and his older sister, Dorothy, of Camden Wyoming, Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jennie Wisniewski, and his siblings, Irene, Robert, and David.
He will always be remembered for his gentle nature and the unconditional love he gave so freely to his family.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, no formal memorial service will be held.
