Timothy Ambrose Petrites' Obituary
Petrites, Timmy, 50, of Tampa, Florida passed away on February 12, 2024. Timmy was a ray
of light who was always up for an adventure, a dance party or a heartfelt exchange. He was
a loyal son and friend. Timmy grew up in Northwest Indiana, graduated from Andrean High
School in 1991 then attended Indiana University Northwest. He made hundreds of friends
throughout his journey. People were naturally drawn to his kind heart, witty sense of
humor and dynamic smile. To know him was to love him unconditionally and he
reciprocated love in the most beautiful and unique way. Timmy worked as a Real Estate
Broker for RE/MAX All/Stars until 2010, then with McColly Real Estate and more recently
with Coldwell Banker in Tampa. Timmy lived in the Miller Beach Community in Indiana for
many years and moved to Tampa, FL in September 2022. While living in Miller, he was an
active member at St. Mary of the Lake Church co-chairing several impactful community
events. He attended church every Sunday with his beloved mother and often participated
in Mass by singing with the choir. He was also a pivotal volunteer member of the Miller
Beach Arts & Creative District (MBACD) from 2015-2023 with his most recent contribution
sponsoring Patti Shaffner at Live on Lake Street in February 2023. Timmy also contributed
to the Miller Farmers Market where he implemented a “free table” with the intention of
finding a new home for gently used items. His passion for the environment was
unmatched. He was very conscious of minimizing his footprint on the planet. He was
larger than life. He effortlessly sustained solid and meaningful relationships with so many
close friends and family members throughout his short life. Timmy is survived by his
spouse John Lenti, mother Kim Petrites, sister Amy (Brandt) Lindquist, brother Kevin (Sara)
Petrites, sister Bridget Petrites, very special cousin Heidi (Damon) Theis, nieces, and
nephews; Kaden and Riley Petrites and Reeve and Asher Lindquist, and many friends. He is
preceded in death by his father Thomas Petrites.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church,
