Rafael and I have so many unforgettable memories of poker nights in the man-cave, singing karaoke, many game nights, skiing in Pittsburgh with my family, many Halloween festivals, movie nights, and countless heart-to-heart conversations about bridging gaps with missed family. Todd spoke of his children and family every holiday and birthday with admiration and a longing in his heart to be with them; even from afar, his children meant the world to him.

I remember when Todd met Laura, and seeing their relationship grow was truly inspiring. We all shared great times during movie nights, playing Fibbage, and enjoying karaoke every weekend. Todd was truly a great friend and will be forever missed."

Mine and Todd’s friendship started off with a bang — literally. The first time we met, he threw firecrackers at my bare feet. I remember standing there beyond irritated, thinking to myself, “Well, I’m definitely not going to like this guy.”

As it turns out, I was very wrong.

Todd ended up becoming the best nemesis I could have ever asked for. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a nemesis who sets elaborate traps, threatens to buy sharks with laser beams to take you out.

Whether he was forcing me to watch scary movies, plotting my downfall, or providing commentary from the peanut gallery while I was talking to Laura, the truth is, he saw exactly how crazy I could be and accepted me anyway. That kind of friendship is rare, and it meant more to me than he probably realized.

I’ll miss my nemesis.

Me and my bestie used to spend every night watching movies. I’d come out to the living room and he’d be there, ready with horror movies, shows, game options that he’d spend all day finding just for me. The occasional regular movie night with mom because she’s terrified of horror haha… but he never failed to make me feel seen, to make me feel cared for and to spend time with me.
