Vera A. Ferrol's Obituary
Vera A. Ferrol, 88, of Clearwater, FL passed away at home under hospice care surrounded by family. She was born in Parmaribo, Suriname to Arthur and Harriette (Volkerts) Lieuw April 12, 1931. Vera and her husband Edo moved from Aruba to the United States in 1955 to settle in New York where they started a successful import/export business. Eventually the family moved to Clearwater in 1978 where they retired. Vera loved to travel and take cruises all over the world, enjoyed watching sports on TV and also played semi pro women's basketball for a time. She is survived by her husband, Edo of 69 years of marriage (together 70 years); a daughter, Vendette; son, Larry(Diana) and daughter, Sharon(Keith); 3 grandchildren, Amber, Thomas, and Larry, Jr; 3 great-grand children, Kaja, Larry, III, and Lyla; 4 sisters, Urci, Joan, Helen and Carla. There will be a Gathering of Friends Sunday, December 15, 1:00PM with the Celebration of Life starting at 2:00PM, at the funeral home, 693 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, ALZ.org or Hospice.
