Virginia R. DeGroat, (Ma)
Born on August 16, 1927 and moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1978. Virginia left this life on June 18, 2015. Growing up in Dover, New Jersey through the Great Depression, she learned the values of family and thriftiness. During the time of war, she learned sacrifice and love of country. Raised as the middle child of 7 siblings, Virginia thrived on competition and enjoyed all types of sports. She celebrated life’s pleasures with the same sincerity and fervor as she handled life’s challenges. Her life was one of loyalty and integrity. She was a wonderful daughter, sibling, wife, mother, friend, and person. She will be missed. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and son Andrew. She is survived by her sister Doris and brother Austin Smith, her sons; Leonard/(Bonnie), Matthew/(Marcia), and Russell; grandchildren-Dennis and Mark Williams, David A. DeGroat/(Laura), Laura-Ann DeGroat-Milo, Brittany DeGroat, Corey Trilsch, Gavin and Irene DeGroat; and her great-grandchildren; David, Abigail, Shayla, and Garrett.
