Vito William Fantino's Obituary
Vito William Fantino, 95, passed away on January 30th, 2025, in Pinellas Park, Florida. Vito was born on September 26th, 1929, in Melvindale, Michigan, the son of the late Carmine Fantino and Catherine Wylonis Fantino.
Vito spent most of his life, 78 years, living in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where he was a police officer & detective for 28 years. He married his beloved wife Jane Morris Fantino on September 2nd, 1950, and had 3 children together. In 1981, Vito & Jane began spending their winters in Sarasota, Florida, and then in Clearwater, Florida, starting in 1998, at the Ranch Mobile Home Park.
Vito is survived by his son David Fantino, daughter Carol (Brien) Swartout, granddaughters Jennifer Swartout & Jennette (Miguel) Leal, and great-grandchildren Ana Leal & Antonio Leal. He is predeceased by his parents Carmine & Catherine, his son Robert Fantino, and his beloved wife of 70 years Jane Morris Fantino.
Vito loved playing pool & volleyball and had a great interest in cars. He was an excellent landscaper and enjoyed growing trees & working with cement in his dump truck. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Vito loved his family and friends tremendously and will be missed dearly.
