In Loving Memory of Vivian Moffatt, formerly Cruickshank, nee Gibson,Born November 9, 1922 in Stanleyville, Georgia to Frank and Jeannette (Brantley) Gibson of the Brownlow family, an early pioneering family of what was then Hills Read Obituary
Betsy, Bob, & Chris, We will always remember your mom fondly and are glad that she was a part of our lives.
Vivian was quite a gal. She loved her Roses, listening to Frank Sinatra, feeding her birds and squirrels, especially a big black crow that came to see her everyday. She had enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and had one every year and did not hesitate in getting her children to help clear out the weeds before planting. She did not put up with any guff from her neighbors and usually voiced her opinions on any subject she was thinking about. Even though I only knew her for 27 years she will be missed.
Vik (Vivian's nickname) and I shared some fun and happy times shopping in downtown Clearwater at Maas Brothers. We always dressed up and always wore makeup for these occasions as it was only proper! Once we were finished shopping, we would eat at the Maas Brothers Cafe. Of course she would be driving the Dodge Coronet that she loved dearly. If I remember correctly, She let me drive the prized posession once in all the years she owned it. It was a dream to drive! She loved her peach trees and only she knew about how to best care for roses. Ask any Nursery in the area. She gave them a lesson or two as well! I never fully grasped her vast knowledge. The birds that visited her were the best fed in all of Florida and they would prance on her back porch waiting for the treats she always provided them! Trying now to only remember the good times.
Betsy, Chris & Bob,We are so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. The times spent with your Mom at gatherings over the years will be warmly remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorrow. “Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that are happy.” Author Unknown
Robert (Bob) Cruickshank and his wife including their children and grandchild, mourn the loss of his mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. Bob tirelessy cared for his mom in her home during the last year of her life. We remember the good times and cry about the sad times. We pray that she is lovingly tending the roses in God's garden and is now reunited with her loved ones long passed.
Gramma I will always remember the happy times spent with you in your beautiful garden. I learned and grew with you seeing the care you took with your plants. Spending days learning to care for your beloved canaries and waiting for the day when the nectarines would be ripe. You will always be in my heart
Sounds like an amazing woman who lived life to the fullest. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to all of you.connie rawson
