Walter Theodore ”Ted” Anderson, Jr
Walter Ted Anderson was born in Yonkers NY on October 10, 1938 the son of Walter and Viola Sargent Anderson. He attended elementary school in Hastings NY and then moved to Vero Beach FL where he was active in football and track. He finished his senior year at Ft. Lauderdale High school where he starred in both sports. He attended Florida State University.
Ted became a life guard for the City of Vero Beach while in school and thus became his lifelong passion for water and especially fishing.
Ted was a restaurateur working in KY and TN for Jerrico and Long John Silvers. He transitioned into the Restaurant Brokerage field and ultimately returned to Florida where he continued his long and successful career.
Ted is survived by his loving wife and partner Bonnie “Jo”; children: Tina Anderson, Terri Earnest (Scott), Scott Anderson and Walter Anderson III. He has 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his sister Lianne Anderson Doglione who shared his birthday and his trials and triumphs in life.
Ted will be remembered for his love of family, his hard work, professional integrity and gentle spirit. He truly was one of the good guys! A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist of Dunedin,421 Main Street, Dunedin, on Wednesday October12th at 11 am.
