William Frederick Fischer's Obituary
William Frederick Fischer, 93, (Bill k4ijy) USAF. Born Amsterdam, NY June 26, 1931, passed away August 1, 2024.  While in the Air Force (1950 - 1954) Bill was involved in research and development at HQ Air Force Cambridge Research Center (Mass) ( a research center  - a cold war system development organization, which helped develop telephone modem communications for digital radar relay and had electronics technical lab and other research)
Later, in the Bahamas, he was assigned to the Missiles Testing Squadron in research and development. When he left the Air Force, Bill continued his love of engineering by attending Georgia Tech for two years and graduating with an AA degree from a college associated with Georgia Tech.
While at Honeywell (1958 - 1988) he worked in research and development including the Hubble Space Telescope (gyroscope) and the first space shuttle.
Bill loved his daughter, Jean Cox; he loved football (especially the Bucs), the Rays and his cats, especially Boney.
He will be missed.
Bill is predeceased by his daughter, Jean Cox (Coppell, Texas) and his parents, Frederick and Daisy Fischer. He is survived by his partner of 20 years, Sara Slack and grandson, David Cox (Coppell, Texas)
