This is the way I want to remember Dad: ebullient, kind, loving, funny, engaging, a superb listener, a Cajun food lover-the hotter the better, just to list a few. I had the privilege to visit him on August 12 and 13, 2017 and we all had a terrific time together. We enjoyed some delicious and special meals together-- with Dad the food was just the means of engaging in a wonderful conversation. Time was not an issue since he had enviably leisurely eating habits. His broad spectrum of knowledge made it possible to meander freely in and out of a multitude of themes and subjects; however, at the end he loved to reminisce about family members and friends. Always bringing up a unique positive individual quality and adding a pertinent story.
We have now the opportunity to reciprocate and boy do we have an extensive library of unique stories of William T Hamner to recollect and share! You’ll always will continue to teach us through your memorable actions about the secrets of social engagement. “Love your brother as yourself” was one of your daily life action drivers and perhaps the reason why you drew me near. I am the luckiest person on earth. Rest In Peace Dad.
