William K. Weaver III's Obituary
WEAVER, III, William Kean died November 5, 2016 at age 92. He was born at
Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., he came to Florida from Baltimore, Maryland in 1986.
He graduated from Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland, received a B.S. Degree from University of Baltimore and pursued additional studies at Johns Hopkins University in the field of labor and industrial relations.
He retired as Executive Vice-President of the Maryland Bankers Association. Prior thereto he was Personnel Director of the two plants that comprised the Baltimore Division of Revere Copper and Brass Incorporated.
He was a former President of the Personnel Administration Association of Baltimore, a member of the Maryland governor’s Advisory council for Unemployment Security Administration, Chairman of the Baltimore Chamber of commerce Unemployment Insurance committee and a Deacon of the Towson, Maryland Presbyterian Church. He was an Eagle Scout and served as Chairman of the Stoneleigh Maryland Boy Scout Troop committee.
During World War II he served as a Tank-Gunner in North Africa and Italy. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action during the final Allied drive on Rome.
He was particularly proud of the fact that a member of his family had participated in every war in which the United States has been engaged from the Revolutionary War to and included Desert Storm.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 400, Orlando, Florida the Anzio Beachhead Veterans Association and the Sunshine Chapter (Florida) of the 1st Armored Division.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret J. Nall. Survivors include his wife, Chloe I. Weaver, two sons, William Kean IV, Baltimore, Maryland; Frank Hill, Lieut. Comdr. U.S. Navy (Retired), Dundas, Minnesota; two step-daughters, Kimberly Dodge Pettit, Newton, New Hampshire; Lisa Dodge Burton, Powell, Ohio; Two sisters, Marion V. Rumpf, Winter Park, Florida; Nancy L. Saunders, Towson, Maryland, and three grandchildren.
Military Honors at Graveside will be on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Dunedin Historical Cemetery.
