Willie James Miller's Obituary
Willie James Miller, born on October 26, 1958, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 66. He was the beloved son of the late Lenora Miller and William Hill.
As a child, Willie had a passion for repairing the neighborhood kids' bicycles, always eager to lend a helping hand. As a young man, he found joy in playing basketball and was a proud member of the Condon Gardens Basketball Team for the city of Clearwater, FL.
Willie proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1982 and earning an honorable discharge in 1992. His dedication, resilience, and commitment to service were evident in all aspects of his life.
Beyond his service, Willie had a passion for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. His food was always made with love and brought people together.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter Latania Miller, and brothers Vincent Miller, Reynolds Miller, Leron Howard, and Nathaniel Howard. He leaves behind cherished memories with his son, Raphael McKenzie (Cheryl), and his beloved grandchildren: Kaleb McKenzie, Ellis McKenzie, and Carter McKenzie.
Willie shared many cherished years with his devoted partner, Carletha Smith. He lovingly helped raise her two sons, Quentin and Kevin, who held a special place in his heart. His legacy also lives on through his siblings: Leroy Howard, Charles Howard, Harry Howard, Joseph Miller, Barbara Miller, Joyce Rollins, and Theopolis Wynn, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure his presence in their lives.
Willie will be remembered for his kind spirit, deep love for family, and strong sense of loyalty. His laughter, warm smile, and love for cooking will be deeply missed.
