Woodrow Wilson McCormack Jr.'s Obituary
Woodrow (Woody) Wilson McCormack, 78, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2020. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Woody grew up with his future bride, Jean Katherine Brown. They were married in 1969, upon his return from a tour in Vietnam. He served his country for 20 years in the US Navy as a corpsman. In addition to his tour in Vietnam, he served a two year stint in Italy and then finished his service in Groton, CT. Following his Naval career, he became employed at Pfizer and worked there for 15 years until his retirement in 2002. He was an incredibly hard working man that never missed a day of work. After retirement Woody and Jean moved to Tampa, FL. His favorite saying was “I can’t complain” and he truly lived life with a half glass full attitude, treating each day is if it were a blessing. His beloved wife of 35 years, Jean, predeceased him in 2004. Woody is survived and loved by his son, Matthew, and his 3 grandson’s, Drew, Nathan, and Quinn McCormack of Mystic CT, as well as his brother and best friend, Frank McCormack of AZ and brother-in-law, Jim Brown of CA. There will be a private burial with full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a future date.
