Anna Kathryn Henry, a long-time resident of Dunedin, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2016 at the age of 96. She spent the last several years of her life at St. Mark Village, in Palm Harbor, Florida, residing in the Read Obituary
This is Mary Margaret, Don&Cora Higgins girl. I am so sorry to hear this new's of my Dad's last sibiling has left us all. She is now with your Dad and all of the families. She was very sweet to me and I will alway's cherish the memories! Hope to see you back in Independence for her service.
I'm so sorry to learn of Kathryn's passing. To me, she was always such a lady--so kind and caring. I remember attending her wedding to my grandfather, Tom Henry, and all the fun times we had visiting them in Waterloo over the years. I was fortunate to spend a week in Florida at their house after my high school graduation. Being from Iowa, I didn't know the Florida sun was so strong so I got a bad sunburn on my first day at their house. I remember Kathryn bringing me cold compresses for my sore skin because that's just the kind, caring person she was. I'm so glad she met my grandfather and became part of our family, too.

I met Kathryn shortly before she married my grandfather, Tom Henry. She was a very kind lady and always brought a smile to the room. We had many happy times together over the years. I was pleased to get to share some very happy memories with her, including my wedding which she was able to travel to Iowa for 21 years ago, and the surprise visit to the church in Des Moines for the baptism of my oldest child, Harry. We will miss her, but know she is in a better place.
We were saddened to hear that Kathryn passed away. She was such a lady and a friend to all who knew her.
When Tom's wife Fran passed away he was suffering so and just could not get back to being his old self. I remember when he told Sharon that he had a new friend that he was seeing. He invited us to meet her and that was when we met Kathryn. We enjoyed our time together and saw her many more times over the years after they remarried. We remember when they visited us in Ackley many times. They used to dance around our living room, it was always fun to have them visit. We also visited them in Waterloo and many times after they settled in Flordia.
This summer when we decorated Tom's grave we wondered how Kathryn was doing. The last time we saw her I know her memory was not good. She was glad to see us and knew we were family. That is the way we also felt about her. We will miss you and know you are in a better place.
