Anna Kathryn Henry's Obituary
Anna Kathryn Henry, a long-time resident of Dunedin, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2016 at the age of 96. She spent the last several years of her life at St. Mark Village, in Palm Harbor, Florida, residing in the Alzheimer’s care unit.
Anna Kathryn (known by most of her friends as Kathy) was born on August 1, 1919 in Independence, Iowa to Andrew and Margaret Higgins. She was the youngest of eight children and had four sisters and three brothers (all of whom are deceased). Kathy was raised on a farm and after marrying her first husband, Robert Dohse, the two of them owned and operated a dry cleaning company in Oelwein, Iowa and many other businesses. Bob died suddenly at the age of 52 and Kathy was later remarried to Tom Henry, a police officer in Waterloo, Iowa. Kathy and Tom (now deceased) permanently relocated to Dunedin, Florida in the early 1980s.
Kathy was very active at her church, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida. She served as a eucharistic minister and worked as a volunteer in the St. Vincent de Paul - Office of Community Care. Kathy loved playing cards and just spending time with her friends and family. She also very much loved being a grandma and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Kathy is survived by: i) her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Joyce Dohse of Madison, Wisconsin; ii) her grandson, Richard Hagan of Clearwater, Florida; iii) her granddaughter and husband, Kristal and Stuart Chastain of New Port Richey, Florida; iv) her two great-granddaughters, Emily and Katie Chastain and great-great-grandson, River Gardner; and v) her step-daughter and husband, Sharon and Gary Homan, and step-son, Tom Henry Jr., and their families.
A reception and memorial service will be held for Kathy starting at 10:00am on Saturday, January 23 at Moss-Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, Florida.
