Aunt Anne was very proud to have celebrated her 50th anniversary as a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Clearwater. She enjoyed being a Stephen Minister, serving many elderly living in nursing homes. She learned to ride a unicycle at 70 years of age and went parasailing on her 80th birthday. She spread love wherever and with whomever she could. She believed forgiveness to be necessary for a happy and peaceful life.
Aunt Anne loved a good joke and wasn't afraid to laugh at herself. When I reached drinking age, she offered to make an "orange blossom special." I took a sip of the OJ and told Anne that it didn't taste like there was any alcohol in it. She burst out laughing and told George and me that her drink must have a double shot! From then on, the phrase "orange blossom special" always made us laugh and meant it was party time.
Anne was a truly kind soul with a heart full of love. It was my pleasure to know her as an office volunteer at Grace Lutheran Church and as a classmate when we both completed the Stephen Ministry program. She was an inspiration and a joy.
