Barb was a great friend/customer/fellow parishioner for over 35 years. She enjoyed a long nursing career and, after retirement, she dedicated much of her free time to volunteer work at her beloved church, St. Alfreds. Barb was a prolific needlework 'artist' skillfully creating unique pieces she often gave as gifts. I was privileged to custom frame dozens of them over the years. Heaven now has a volunteer extraordinaire! We will miss you.
Barb has been our neighbor for almost 25 years. She used to keep us all up on what was happening and had many friends from her nightly trips around the neighborhood. She hadn't been taking those long walks for awhile and I'm sure she was missed.
St. Alfred's was very important to Barb and she took her many responsibilities there very seriously. But she also liked to have fun and tell silly stories. I was pleased that she had so many friends at church and she very much enjoyed the outings they had at the museum and lunch trips.
Barb came to our house to visit often and also to get her "cat fix" since she no longer had cats of her own.
We'll miss you Barb, rest easy.

I met Barb first at work and then shortly after at a local diner called Nortons. She was always a kind and gentle person. My favorite memory was listening to her tell us all about her cross country train trip when she returned. She will certainly be missed.
I met Barb while working in my garden, and she was on one of her famous night walks. She commented on my lilies, and I asked her if she wanted some. She stopped turned around and said she would love some. We talked for about 30 minutes, I gave her some bulbs and invited her to come over for dinner one night. That was the beginning of an almost 20 year friendship during which we joined her many times at St. Alfred. We will so miss her laugh, her love for her church and her kindness to our children. And she still has lillies outside her home to this day.
