Betty S Lindberg's Obituary
Betty S. Lindberg, 91 of Clearwater, Florida died Thursday November 2, 2017 at the Oaks of Clearwater where she lived for the past year.
She was born March 19, 1926 in Kittanning, Pa., the daughter of Merrell Slagle and Margaret J. McCanna Slagle.
She was married to Dale S. Lindberg, who died May, 1985.
Betty worked for the Department of the Army (now Department of Defense) at the newly opened Pentagon 1/1/1944 to end of 1946. Then transferred to The Army Medical Center, Walter Reed Hospital. From there she worked as private secretary to the Surgeon General of the Army, General Silas B. Hayes. She worked at the VA Hospital in Erie Hospital and then when the family moved to Dubois, Pennsylvania in 1955 she worked with her husband Dale Lindberg in their newly established Lindberg Adjustment Company. She worked 25 years for the Social Security Administration both in DuBois Pa and Clearwater Florida. She finished her career with 10 years at H & R Block, Clearwater, Florida.
Betty was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Clearwater, Florida.
She is survived by two sons, Dale S. Lindberg, Jr. Of Clearwater, Florida and Richard L. Lindberg of New York City; one daughter Candace E. Place, of Millersville Maryland; one brother Richard A. Slagle of Oklahoma, and Yula Bowser of Ford City, Pa.
Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
One brother, John Slagle and one sister, Marjorie Dunmire, are deceased.
Her son, Timothy John Lindberg, preceded her in death on March 3, 2003.
