Dr McAllister saved my husband's life 30 yrs ago.
He was his doctor through his year on dialysis and his kidney transplant
Although his transplant lasted only four years and he passed away it was Dr McCallister who gave us those four years together.
He was so kind explaining to us about dialysis and having my husband in his clinic when we first met him in the hospital. He was not only my husband's doctor but a friend. I Know since he has helped so many many people and now may he rest in peace for is work on earth is done.

Dr. McAllister was a very special physician. When he came to Clearwater in 1978, Morton Platt Hospital (MPH) was awaiting his leadership in Nephrology and opening the acute Dialysis unit. He was a mentor to our entire healthcare team. I had the privilege of working with him for many years in the Hemodialysis unit at MPH. He truly made a difference and enhanced the care of patients with advanced renal failure. He had compassion and the outstanding ability to really help patients and their families understand their condition and always provided exemplary, comprehensive care. I have known Charlie since he moved to Clearwater in 1978. He and his partner Larry Dewberry were the premier nephrologists in upper Pinellas County. Charlie was a very bright, diligent and a kind physician who was well respected by his patients and colleagues. He was an inspiration to his fellow physicians who always valued his advice and counsel. Although he retired some years ago, he will be missed by his former colleagues and patients. He made significant and worthwhile contributions to his profession and community. RIP, Charlie!

When I was young I was in awe of Charlie as the older cousin. I remember when the family got together for celebrations. In resent years Charlie offered advice, support and compassion when my Father and my sister Kathleen were ill. We were so grateful for Charlie.

I remember I would go visit my Aunt Lillian and Uncle John house every summer. We went to Jones Beach and it was late afternoon. Charlie and I took a walk on the beach and we were talking and having fun. Aunt Lillian was looking for us because we forgot to tell the folks. We both got yelled out…. I was always getting in trouble with my Aunt. Those were the days.
Charlie always had time for all of us! I loved that about Charlie! He was always loving and kind to us! And he had a great laugh too and will never forget it!
