Uncle Chuck will be remembered for his love of his family, especially his wife and life partner Aunt Karen. His career achievements and work ethic. His devotion to his faith his usual greeting to me, “Hi, which mass did you go to on Sunday?”. His generous nature: he did things for others but did not draw attention to that fact. He was involved in the community: as a young man he even ran for State Representative and won the primary.
I will also miss Uncle Chuck’s sense of humor, I was thinking about a story he told me: he got two $100 bills out of the bank to take his family on vacation. He gave one each to Chuck and Greg and told them to pretend that they found them outside. Chuck and Greg came running into the hotel room and said, “look what we found outside, hundred dollar bills they’re just blowing around the parking lot”. Uncle Chuck said he never saw Aunt Karen jump so fast in her life as she yelled “What are you doing in here? go find more” as she started running for the parking lot.
The last time I saw him in Clearwater, I could see that he still had kept his wit and sense of humor despite his advancing illness.
Continuing to reflect on the passing of a good man who will be missed.
