David Hickman Meadows' Obituary
David Meadows, born in Akron, Ohio, was an entrepreneur and a passionate adventurer. He was known for his excellent communication skills and his ability to build and maintain relationships. David's passion for bringing people together was evident in all aspects of his life.
David graduated from Firestone High school in Akron and was involved in Young Life, then off to Ohio University graduating with B.B.A. and B.S.C. Business and Communication. David started his career in New York City, where he created WorldBits. He was a founder of Mimeo and Screenshot Software and a founding member of Dunedin Rotary, where he also served as an ambassador to the Caribbean. David was a founding member of the Skip Cline Society and an active participant in the Dunedin Boat Club and Dunedin Scotchguard. He contributed significantly to the Morton Plant Foundation and was instrumental in developing the U.S. Center of Entrepreneurship.
David was an avid big mountain skier and world traveler, having lived in states including Ohio, Arizona, New York, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, and Florida. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Audra, his brothers Andy and Michael, his mother Jerrilee "Skip" Meadows, and his niece Marleigh, along with his three nephews, Alex, Chase, and Jagger.
David passed away peacefully at hospice, surrounded by his family and close friends, on February 19, 2025. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 14th, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bon Appetit in Dunedin. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes of Dunedin on Saturday, March 15th, at 11 a.m. at 750 San Salvador Dr., Dunedin, Florida 34698.
