Delano E. Bellew's Obituary
Delano Earl Bellew, 84, of Odessa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born on November 17, 1936 in Lawton, Kentucky to Earl and Christine (Tackett) Bellew. His mother passed away when he was an infant. He was raised by his Aunt Edith and Uncle Oscar Cline. He graduated from Olive Hill High School and then went on to attend Youngstown State University. In 1963 he and his partner Nelson Jones founded United Church Directories, a photography and publishing company in Galion, Ohio. Del moved to Florida and was involved in many other business ventures and volunteered his time on the board of Team Focus and was a past member of the Board of Trustees at the University of South Florida supporting their football and basketball programs. Del was an avid sports contributor and sports enthusiast, especially Ohio State football and Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. Del was a caring and generous man who thrived on helping people and had a passion for business, sports, traveling, boating and being around his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Donetta (Mark) Barnett, Jeffrey (Robyn) Bellew, and Gary (Lisa) Bellew. Grandchildren; Tiffany Barnett, Chelsea Bellew, Marissa (Chris) Lekawa, Brandon (Lauren) Bellew, Shannon (Nick) Kimble, Amber (Kevin) Dawson, and Kayla Bellew-Sinclair and thirteen great grandchildren, his sister Marcella (Bellew) Jones and his former wife Linda Bellew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Edith, Uncle Oscar, and sisters, Janet Kissinger and Joyce Rose.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at Moss Feaster Funeral Home (693 S. Belcher Road Clearwater, FL 33764) on October 30, 2021 at noon. Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Delano Earl Bellew.
