I never met Don, I only know of him because of his daughter, my daughter-in-law Ashley. It take a special person to take a child into his life and raise her as his own. She was a little girl when their lives crossed but Don, took her by the hand and did just that, he raised her as his own. Children don't come with instructions we have to figure them out as we go. We knowingly and unknowingly teach them as they grow. He instilled right from wrong, taught empathy, compassion, but most of all he taught her to love and care about others. She could not always be there for him over the last few years because also taught her to follow her heart, so she move to Maryland and became my daughter also. Though she was hundreds of miles from him, he was always first in her thoughts. This is the kind of per he raised, always thinking of others. You will always be in her heart and never forgotten. So thank you Don, for raising that little girl into the person she has become. If as parents we can only do one right in our lives, it is to raise our children to be good people. You can rest soundly knowing have done so. GOD JOB.
