Dorothy E. Martin's Obituary
Dorothy E. Martin, 93, of Palm Harbor, passed away May 1, 2025 at St. Mark Village. Dorothy was born in Davenport, Iowa August 16, 1931 to Lloyd and Helena (Frerichs) Bashaw. Besides her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bill, who passed away in 2017.
She was an excellent cook and loved to bake, especially around Christmas. Her almond Crescent cookies were to die for. Dorothy was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clearwater, where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. She and her husband (Bill) loved to travel, and Germany was a favorite. In addition to her cooking and baking, Dorothy enjoyed discovering her family roots with genealogy, knitting, reading and playing Bunco. Generous with her time, Dorothy volunteered at Head Start, the RCS thrift store and the Haven. She was a wonderful Christian woman, who loved her music, listening to it till the very end, and we are all happy that she has finally met her beautiful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
That brings a smile to all of her children and grandchildren.
“Welcome Home Mom…”
She is survived by 4 children, Billy (Missy) Martin, Nancy (Jim) Olson, Suzanne Bryant, David Martin; 6 grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Kristopher (Mary Kate) Bryant, Nicole (Joseph) Salas, Ryan Olson, Breana Bryant, Samantha Martin and one great-grandson, Monroe Martin.
Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 27, 11:00AM in the chapel at St. Mark Village, 2655 Nebraska Ave, Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1120 Curlew Rd, Dunedin, FL 34698
