Dorothy A. Stanek's Obituary
Dorothy A. Stanek, 87, passed away peacefully February 20, 2018 in Dunedin, FL, following a brief illness. She was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Lillian and Eric Sporre, sister of June Moffler (Rudy) and Betty Grady (Bill). Following high school, she became a medical technician. In the 1950’s, she moved from the bustling City of Chicago to the rural confines of Cambridge, Wisconsin, where she became an entrepreneur, owning and operating a Country Store. In 1969, she moved to Palm Harbor, FL and returned to working in the medical field.
A devoted Christian, she was always helping others. After retiring, she continued to do volunteer work at her church and F.E.A.S.T., a local food pantry. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Paul (Wanda), grandson Steve (Tera), great-granddaughter Zoe, and generations of many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Gathering of Friends at 12:30 with a Celebration of Life to begin at 1:00 Tuesday, February 27th, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin. Procession to follow for internment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Suncoast Hospice (www.Suncoasthospice.org).
