Sad to hear. When I was in my teens, I used to cut Doug Fielder's Parents grass. At that time in the 1980's, He was a Twelve Oaks Mall Security with going to college to becoming a law enforcement officer. He worked with Wixom Police Dept. after that. - Bill Monson - Farmington Hills, MI
Doug was a cherished friend and even more so - just a very easy going and likeable Man. Doug was one of those rare people who you just connected with the first time you met.
Our passion for Music was first realized very early while Doug was in training.
I made a Beach Boys musical reference during our conversation - Doug laughed then after a couple of quiet moments - he came right back with one of his own Beach Boys Verses; it was perfect.
The Badge Boys was not only about us making Music and recreating the Songs we loved so passionately - but we were truly a Band of Brothers.
Doug was considered one of my family. My Sister calls him "Little Brother" and my Mom just loved him.
My Mom and I were invited to Doug's Mom and dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
We didn't really know anyone other than his Family - so we were by ourselves at a back table.
Doug came over and sat with us pretty much through the entire evening.

Dougie. Truly one of kindest, funniest and giving people I ever knew. He shared a love of the Seminole's football team and coach Bobby Bowden with my dad. When my dad would visit me from Florida, Dougie always made time to sit and talk football with my elderly dad.
For the ones that never got to know Dougie..... You missed out on the finest.
Dougie would make me laugh so hard my tummy hurt.
To you Dougie. I hope you have found your dot.

Doug and I worked as volunteers for a small police department together. During the summer Doug and I would sometimes be teamed up together at the fireworks display. He was a very kind man and very friendly to everyone. It was an honor to know him
Dougie, where does one even begin to state what a fine man you were. We first met when I was assigned as your FTO when Beaumont was lucky enough to get you. We became immediate friends. Working with and hanging out with you was an absolute blast! Thanks for always making me laugh and allowing me to be your friend buddy. You were a class act buddy and will be so missed! Your work is done, rest in peace my friend. God Bless your family and those who knew and loved you.
I had the pleasure of meeting Doug only three short years ago when he moved across the street from me. He always had a smile on his face. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to spend more time with him but life is not always Fair. It broke my heart to see him in so much pain and suffering but he was still smiling.
