Douglas Robert Fiedler's Obituary
Douglas Robert Fiedler of Largo, FL, formerly of Warren, MI, was called to his Lord on August 20, 2021. Born in Detroit, Michigan on October 4, 1959 to Robert and Mary Louise Fiedler. He passed away at the age of 61 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. Douglas is the loving brother of Janice (Fiedler) McMann and brother in law of Frederick McMann, uncle of Caitlin McMann and Kelly McMann. Doug is loved and missed by many extended family members and friends.
Doug retired as a Security Guard at Troy Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI, but his true passion was police work. He was honored for 25 years of service as a Wixom Police Reserve Officer in Wixom, MI. He truly loved working with the Wixom community. He had a great affinity for his "brothers in Blue"
Doug loved all sports, especially football and baseball. Favorites were Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, but he learned to love the Tampa Bay Lightening and Buccaneers. He was an avid college football fan, loving the Michigan State Spartans and Florida State Seminoles. He enjoyed watching and going to spring training games in Florida and watching wrestling. He enjoyed collecting sports cards and memorabilia, especially baseball and football jerseys. Doug also loved to sing and was the lead singer of his band, The "Badge Boys". He especially loved the Beach Boys and attended their concerts many times. He also loved Jimmy Buffett and had been looking forward to seeing him in Tampa in December.
A service will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher R. Clearwater, FL 33764 on Sunday, September 5, at 1:00 P.M.
