Eugene A. Leathem 86 of Dunedin, Florida passed away January 22,2025 after a brief illness. He was born in Killavalley,Cavan Ireland He was the son of the late Mary (Brady) and Gerard Leathem. He is survived by sisters Phyllis,Susan, Kathleen and Bridget, brothers Patrick,Seamus and Aidan. He was predeceased by sisters
Rose,Mary and Alice,brothers John and Gerry. He leaves behind numerous adoring nieces,nephews,grand nieces,nephews and friends. He was a man of great faith and limitless compassion and charity.His great joy was doing charity functions for the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Lourdes Church And St.Vincent de Paul’s soup Kitchen including soliciting food donations from numerous local restaurants which he confessed were more likely to donate if you threw in a little guilt.He was the consummate salesman and spent many years as a representative for Allied Chemical before branching out on his own.He emigrated to the US from Ireland at the tender age of fifteen with the sponsorship of an Aunt and Uncle who treated him like a son, he enlisted in the Marines after highschool and used his GI benefits to attend NYU. A lifelong bachelor because he was always on the move, he was loved by many far and wide. He enjoyed returning home to Killavalley,County Cavan, Ireland and visiting with his numerous friends and family there. His larrikin spirit endeared him to all. He will be dearly missed. Burial arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Eugene's name to a charity of your choice.
