Shannon had many dear friends. Most important in her life was Jackie Hand whose loving care was everpresent in Shannon's life for more than 50 years. With Shannon at the end of her life was another dear friend, Lea Plarski, who visited Shannon almost every day during her last few weeks. Shannon also had many friends living near her in Florida whose visits brought love, warmth, and cheer to their very dear friend as often as possible. Shannon is lovingly remembered by her closest friends in Virginia, Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida who cherished every opportunity to spend time with her.
