George Gordon Moore Rees' Obituary
George Gordon Moore Rees, 50 passed away peacefully on October 24, 2018 at home in Belleair, Florida. Gordon was born on October the 21st, 1968 in Columbus, Georgia and adored by his two loving parents, Steven and Mamie Rees. He enjoyed growing up as a military son living at Fort Lee, Virginia, Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico, Fort Richardson, Alaska, Columbus, Ohio and then permanently settling in Largo, Florida. Gordon attended Largo High School and received his Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He proudly served in the United States Army during most of his young adulthood, being deployed to Camp Arifjan in Kuwait in 2007 and then enjoyed sharing his incredible artistic talents as a pastry chef after his military life. Gordon was known by so many as a “gentle soul” who had such a soft and giving heart, could give the best hugs and would help anyone in need. Gordon loved to fish and spend time by the ocean, pranking his siblings, loved watching his favorite team- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and being close to his family. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Hannah McKenzie Rees, his loving mother, Mamie Eisenhower Moore, his siblings, Steven J. Rees Jr. (Gail), Nicholaus C. Rees (Amber), Ellen S. Ronnlof, (Joseph), his step-mother Emily W. Rees and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Steven J. Rees Sr. (10/19/13) and both sets of his grandparents. The family invites you to join them on Saturday, November the 3rd for his memorial service to celebrate his life. There will be a casual family visitation and gathering between 2 and 3 PM at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33764. Official service to begin at 3pm.
