I was searching online to see if I could find George's old email or blog and unfortunately found her obituary. We had lost touch even though we promised to stay in contact. I did not get a Christmas card last year so I figured that her illness had gotten worse. Each year I get older I say goodbye to another friend or family member. Some leave suddenly, some suffer through tremendous challenges. George was certainly one of those that never complained, still praised the Lord and fought her battles with such courage. I taught with her at Rainbow Garden and I admired her so much. She was loved by her students, parents and staff. She was a beautiful lady-inside and out! She touched my life, always checking in with me and seeing me through a really rough patch in my life. I loved our prayer times together. She was never judgmental, always loving and kind and thoughtful, but never hesitated to tell me what she thought. She was very special. George,
We were together from the beginning to the end of this long journey. You sure fought a long hard battle...losing your hair so many times, but coming right back and starting all over again. You were dealt a full deck of cards and you played everyone of them to the fullest.

We did not have a lot in common growing up because I was the older sister and heaven for bid I could not be seen with my little sister. As we did age I would call you and do all my ironing while talking to you on the phone (1 to 2 hours or more) and our husbands would say " you just talked to each other this morning how can you have so much to talk about now."

Then after our husbands both passed away, we would call each other anytime of the day and sometimes 3 and 4 times a day. We found we had so much in common.

When we got talking about making greeting cards, forget it if you were someone trying to call either one of us. I am so going to miss hearing you on the other end of the phone. Even thought you were so set in your own ways ( not me) and no one could change that. Whenever we had a disagreement, we would just move on with our lives.
I would call you and try to explain what I just purchased at Michaels or Hobby Lobby and then the next day you would call me and tell me what you went and bought.

I loved to surprise you every time I flew to Florida. I would just knock on your door and you would cry every time and say "what are you doing here" Then you would say "your not going to ever surprise me again," think I surprised you 5 or 6 more times....but you loved it....now no more, now maybe I will have to start surprising Tanya and Kevin...George there is no more worrying about them, Tanya is doing a fantastic job and Kevin is dealing with it very well. Your little girl has grown up and taken on your responsibilities very well. You would be very proud of her.
