Harry Alfred Jones' Obituary
Harry Alfred Jones, 89, of Dunedin, Florida, passed on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center, North Pinellas in Palm Harbor, FL.
Harry was born on October 22, 1925 in Palm Harbor, Florida to Russell and Susie (Slater) Jones. He grew up during difficult times. He worked with his father and brothers in the family Citrus grove business in order to serve the community.
Harry served his country in the United States Army and received an Honorable discharge. He married Cynthia Ann Campbell on February 14, 1952. He was a loving and caring husband until Cynthia passed on May 13, 2003.
Harry was a dedicated and faithful Christian. He spent most of his life as an active member of Curlew United Methodist Church in Palm Harbor. He served in various capacities at church.
Harry was a member of Masonic Lodge #174 in Palm Harbor.
He loved to camp, travel and spend time with his family and friends.
He was a practical joker with a dry sense of humor and wit. He loved life to the fullest and loved to share his knowledge. He was a true friend and mentor. He was compassionate and learned how to forgive. He lived the “Golden Rule”. Harry will always be remembered as a hardworking and honest “Southern Gentleman”. He was loved, respected and adored.
He was preceded in death by his son, "Buster" Russell Campbell Jones in 1968 and siblings, Alvin, Leland, Kathryn and Earl.
Harry is survived by his wife and companion of 11 years, Mary Jeanne Jones; daughter, Patsy (Marlette Patricia) Verdery of Dunedin, Fl.; granddaughter, Faith Marlette Krebs; grandson-in-law, Eric Krebs; great-grandchildren, Hannah Marlette Krebs and Buster Scott Krebs; many nephews, nieces, cousins and loving friends.
