James "Jay" Bynum, 55 of Oldsmar passed away Friday September16, 2022. Jay was born in Birmingham AL and is predeceased by his parents Billy and June. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy, daughter, Alyssa, stepdaughter, Sha Read Obituary
Robert Lunden, Maj (Ret). I was privileged to work with Jay at the 622 AES. Jay had an inherent and ever optimistic outlook on life. It was always a comfort witnessing his sincere smile and kind words in every situation. The world is less without him, but many whom he mentored carry on his ever optimistic attitude. R.I.P. Brother, see you on the other side.
This is Chris Reynolds (Lt.Col., USAF, Ret.) and I served with James in the 37th & 622d Aeromedical Evacuation Group/Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base. James always had such a "can-do" spirit and was a pleasure to work with. I am praying for James and the family.
I knew Jay at both the VA & the 622 AES. I remember at NH D Floor at the VA he would always have this HUGE bowl of cereal for breakfast. We called it his "Jethro" bowl. Jay was a wonderful soul to be around.
I am CMSgt Elbert Gardner from the 622AES at Macdill AFB. MSgt Bynum worked for me in The Readiness office at Macdill AFB. Always did outstanding work and could ALWAYS be counted on him. We talked on many occasions about family and the Military. I send my condolences and prayers to the family.

I worked with Jay for 3 years. Great co worker, always ready with a smile or a joke to brighten our day. He was a skilled nurse, he taught me a lot about work, life and work-life balance. I will always remember him with joy in my heart 😊❤️
I like to express my sincere condolences to the family and all who loved James. James was such a kind and loving person. Although, I did not work with "jay" directly everyday it was also great to catch-up with our lives. He always wanted to help me in any way. It is a great loss to all of us. I would like to express my sincere condolences for your loss from me and my wife, I worked with Jay for several years would talk with him when we are at the office since Covid 19 no one seen each other anymore just in our meetings, but I got a chance to see Jay more at the office we will talk about our patients we had schedule for the day he will cover me when I’m off and I will cover whenever he’s off but he didn’t take much time off I tell him Jay take a vacation he would just smile he would talk about his daughter a lot who is in college he was so proud. Jay I will miss you and I promise you I will take good care of your patients. To his daughter and wife I am so sorry for your loss he was a gre@t guy coworker. God BLess you and your family.
