James Earl Bynum's Obituary
James "Jay" Bynum, 55 of Oldsmar passed away Friday September16, 2022. Jay was born in Birmingham AL and is predeceased by his parents Billy and June. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Judy, daughter, Alyssa, stepdaughter, Shanna, sister, Karen Tauxe, and numerous family and friends. Always a free spirit, Jay moved to Tampa Bay in 1997 to start his 25 year nursing career at James A. Haley VA Hospital. He was chasing his dream of living in the sunshine state to enjoy the surf and sand when he unexpectedly found love and married a short time later. Jay was an Air Force veteran and retired reservist with the Aero Medical Evacuation Squadron at MacDill Air Force base. He also graduated from St. Leo University Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration. Jay loved all things water including sailing, scuba diving, hanging out in the pool, and walking the dog on the beach. He loved making people laugh and could light up a room with his smile. He will live forever in our hearts.
