There has never been a better sermon to see than the life of my brother Jimmy Hammond. His devotion to Christ throughout life, the highs and lows, continued to be a shining light for me. His wife and children are example of his love for God. Thanks for sharing Jimmy with us all Polly. Love you all
I remember overnight stays in the Hammond dorm room, sports, bike riding, endless laughter and endless pancakes...(thanks, Aunt Lynn). Jim's last words to me in an email in December, 2016...."Iron sharpens Iron"...Godspeed and Keep the Faith!

I am truly at a loss for words to express how sorry I am with Jim's passing. He was a great friend and teammate but an even greater person. I have too many fond memories to share from our Hanover Basketball days but they were some of the best years of my life and a lot of that was because of "Hambone." He was the one who always kept us in line and was the real brains of our team. But when it came to game time, I would go to war with him anytime as he was a fierce competitor. My thoughts and prayers go out to Polly and all of the family. There is no doubt that Jim is in a better place waiting patiently for all of us to come visit.

Jim and I played each other every year in tennis. He for Southport and I for Frankie Central. We had great matches each year. A real adversary and gentleman. As with all of us I wish we had remained in contact over the years. He and I played for the Sectional Championshop twice.
