James (Jim) Comer Hewett
Born January 3, 1938, in Hazelhurst Georgia passed away at the age of 87 on March 18, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years Gloria and their three sons Steve (Dorthy), Greg (Rita) and Mike (Carol). He had eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A longtime resident of Pinellas County FL, he was known as a quiet, gentle man and for his loyalty to friends and family. Jim was a master carpenter who built many homes throughout Pinellas County. He was a dedicated, hard worker who enjoyed his craft and the creation of homes from a pile of wood. He was a great sports fan and loved the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning. He rarely missed a game at a stadium or on TV. He was an avid collector of memorabilia and had many T-shirts, signed baseballs, and other autographed items. He also loved camping and fishing. He had a great passion for all Western movies, TV shows and all things with John Wayne.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 2 – 4 pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home 693 S. Belcher Rd. Clearwater, FL.
