My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends of Joan...I had the pleasure of meeting Joan while we prepped to go computerized documentation throughout the hospitals around 2009. She is one person that I was able to connect with during that venture. Her sense of humor allowed us to laugh things off when we were stressed. We would tease each other back and forth using NEMO to relate to with all things in life. I use to call her some name or the other (I think it was Dory and she did not like that) from the Movie Nemo and she said that she would rather be the little turtle, but she could not remember his name. We looked it up and his name was "Squirt". No, she did not so much like that name either, but it stuck because she liked the little dude. She kept the motto, "Just keep swimming" through all the time I knew her. I was blessed by God for her coming into my life when she did. What a beautiful soul!
I knew Joan since 1984 when we were new nurses together at Community hospital of New Port Richey. We were the youngest nurses on our floor, and the powers that be assigned the two of us to be the "pre-op teaching" nurses. We had such a crazy time with all that and stayed friends all these years. Pat and Marie, my heart is with you both and Ih will remember Joan forever
I took care of her family’s pets along with The other doctors at the Animal Hospital of Dunedin for many years. She loved her furry family members deeply. She was a cheerful and loving person that I had the pleasure of calling her and her entire family friends from early on from the beginning of my arrival in 1981. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.

Pat, Over the years whenever I would meet you in the hospital and you would tell me of the different things you were up to or the projects that you were working on, you always seemed to mention your sister Joan. I always sensed how close you were and how much you loved her. I know that this time is incredibly hard for you and your Precious Mom but the two of you should have no regrets.As much as you both loved Joan, Joan loved the two of you.You made her life on Earth happy! She has now been reunited with her Creator, the Source of All Happiness. Joan the Angel will send Peace and Acceptance down to the two of you.She loved you and She still does!
