Joey always made me feel protected, guarded, loved and secure. He had a way of putting you at ease with just a kind look, a wink or a blown kiss. He was a wonderful brother to me and I'll miss him so very deeply. I've never known anyone like him.
When we lived in Ipswich with our Dad, my mum and our siblings, Danny, Jimmy and Susan, we'd play outside until the neighborhood lights would come on, getting bit by mosquitoes. He and Jimmy had so many laughs together and would trade insults until they couldn't breathe, they were laughing so hard..
In California, he took me to my first drive in movie and I felt like the most special girl in the world. I can remember him playing his Rush records and working on his Harley. He was a self taught and genius mechanic.
But his heart is what everyone will remember. A hug from Joey was what made everything all right. He was genuine, kind, loving, generous and so open with his emotions. I'll miss his gentle way, his sweetness and how special he always made me feel.
My eyes are wet, but my heart is grateful, I know he soars now and is in the most beautiful place any of us could ever imagine.
I love you with all of my heart,
"Sweetie."
