I was so sorry to learn of Joel's passing. I will always remember Joel's skills and wit on the tennis court, it was always a pleasure and a good laugh to play with him. I posted a couple of pictures, and a short video of Joel doing one of the things he did best, poach and put the ball away at the net. My condolences to his family and friends and all of his tennis friends, of which there were legions.

I played tennis with Joel for many years and we would frequently go out for dinner afterwards. Joel was funny and just a good guy. I will miss him. Condolences to his family.
I taught at Bardmoor El when Joel was working here. He was always kind, helpful and had a great sense of humor. One time when I was locked out of my speech therapy room (1 of my students locked both doors as we left) I called him asking him to unlock the door for me. He came right away and of course teased me about it, taking his time going through a pile of keys to find the right one. He had me laughing and feeling great the rest of the day.
